For many animals, being rescued is their last chance at life. This is what we do. One of our goals is to never have to turn an animal in need away because of lack of space or funding. The rescue/rehabilitation process is difficult and expensive. It is a labor of love.
When an animal is no longer wanted or can no longer be cared for, we prefer if they're surrendered as soon as possible. This avoids the health problems and costs associated with rescuing animals later in the process.
A surrendered animal is healthier and costs us less to rehabilitate. Our goal for all animals that come to us is for them to find their "Forever Home" whether that be with us or a loving family.
Animals surrendered early, when they can no longer be cared for by their owners, have the highest chance of achieving that goal. They have more options and are more desirable to more families.
